Since we know that the brachial plexus is formed by the anterior primary rami of spinal nerves, we will now study the complex divisions and fusions of these nerves that give us control of the shoulder and upper limb.

An understanding of the routes followed by these nerves help to define where a nerve is injured based on the loss of function distal to the injury. This is one of many discussions you will have regarding the brachial plexus.
