The trapezius assists in rotating the scapula during abduction of the humerus above the horazontal plane.
Step 16: Add the trapezius-superior which elevates the scapula.
Step 17: Add the trapezius-middle which adducts the scapula.
Step 18: Add the trapezius-inferior which depresses the scapula.
***Note that the three components of the Tapezius are partially innervated by cranial nerve XI the accessory nerve (sometimes known as the spinal accessory nerve).
Step 19: Remove the highlights to give you a chance to dissect away the muscles as you study their location and function.
