OBJECTIVES:8.2.1 Identify the muscles of the pelvis, including the pelvic diaphragm and its components. 8.2.2 Identify the urogenital diaphragm and its components. 8.2.3 Indicate the relationship of the pelvic diaphragm and the urogenital diaphragm to the genitourinary tracts in the female. 8.2.4 Identify the rectum, anus, and the anal sphincters. 8.2.5 Trace the course of the pudendal nerve and its branches to all structures in the perineum. |

| Begin with the basic pelvis from Module 1. | |
| Add the psoas. |
The psoas major joins the iliacus in the pelvis, and passes under the inguinal ligament. Since they share an insertion on the lesser trochanter of the femur, in this area the two muscles are listed as the iliopsoas muscle.
| Add the iliopsoas. | |
