OBJECTIVES:

2.1.1 Trace the flow of blood from the paired and unpaired arterial vessels to each of the abdominal organs and indicate possible collateral vascular pathways.

READINGS:

Start by adding the aorta and iliac arteries.

Using the Highlight or Draw tool, identify the structures on the list. Remember to mark each checkbox as you identify each structure:

Abdominal aorta

External iliac artery

Internal iliac artery

Next, add the retro-peritoneal arteries of the urogenital tract:

	Add the renal artieries.
	A normal variation may include the accessory renal artieries.
	Add the testicular artieries. More about the origin and location of these arteries during the discussion of the reproductive organs.

All of these arteries are truly retro-peritoneal and are not part of the gastrointestinal system. We will cover these arteries in future labs concerning the reproductive and renal systems.
