OBJECTIVES:1.1.1 Identify the osseous landmarks and ligaments associated with the abdomen and their surface projections. 1.1.2 Identify the fascial and muscular layers of the abdomen, emphasizing those penetrated as a result of a surgical incision through the rectus sheath and rectus abdominis muscle above the umbilicus and/or just above the pubic symphysis. 1.1.3 Identify the surface projections of the diaphragm and the hiatuses, ligaments, crura and structures passing through it, (especially the esophagus) demonstrate its nerve (sensory and motor) supply, and its blood supply. Show the other muscles comprising the posterior abdominal wall indicating the nerve supply and function. |
